Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth is a career educator who has taught students with a wide range of needs, including those who attend elite independent schools, public community schools, and specialized learning schools. Elizabeth has designed a literacy foundations curriculum, served as a consultant to private and charter schools, and taught internationally in in Cambridge, UK, and Cusco, Peru. She currently is an adjunct professor in reading disabilities at Hunter College CUNY. 

Elizabeth has experience applying Orton-Gillingham methods to instruction and is trained in numerous multi-sensory reading and writing programs, including Wilson and The Hochman Method. Elizabeth has taught general education students, gifted and talented students, and special needs learners, including those with attention deficits, dyslexia, Autism, anxiety, oppositional defiance disorder, and various specific learning disabilities. 

Elizabeth is warm, approachable, and friendly; she connects with each child on a personal level. She collaborates with family and school to design an individualized treatment plan around specific needs. Her instruction is always aligned with curriculum and her methods can be easily transferred into the classroom. 

Elizabeth is a bookworm who has loved reading her entire life.  She aims to instill this passion for literacy in every one of her students!
